Mysterious Ones
There are some Mac '65 names on the list for the reunion that are a mystery. Not because some of us didn't know them. Heck, that happened with most of us, in one way or another. For example, most folks didn't know me at MacArthur because I was one of those quiet kids.
No, I'm talking about the students who seem to have left a black hole. They were there in the sophomore and junior Cadet yearbooks, and then seem to have completely disappeared from the 1965 Cadet. Those were different times, of course, and what is normal or happens often today, was hidden back then.
One of those people was Patricia Charles. She is carried on the list of Mac '65 graduates but are we really certain she graduated with the class? Or transfered to another school or what?
Pat Charles is not the only one who is a "mysterious one" on the list.
Nevertheless, for now, she's a Mac '65 grad, and here's the obituary that has been tracked down considering her too early death.
Our thoughts go out to all those that knew and loved her, her husband, her children, and her friends. We'd like to know more about what happened in 1965, but then, of course, respect that sometimes it is no one's business but their own.
Pat Charles' photo is taken from the 1963 Cadet, thanks to Phil Hunt, Mac '65. The obit was found by Judy Quinlan Sumner, Mac '66. My thanks for their assistance.
